Danaya Kalieva was detained and interrogated in a criminal case initiated on April 20 on the basis of a complaint from the Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan about the dissemination of deliberately false information. The blogger and activist is involved in the case as a witness with the right to defense. Kalieva was held for about eight hours at the Almaty police station. The detention report was not drawn up.
