State Interests Fund of Armenia CJSC filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Hraparak Daily Newspaper LLC and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan demanding refutation of the information defaming business reputation and payment of monetary compensation for libel. The reason for the lawsuit was Bagratyan’s opinion published on the website Hraparak.am, which confirmed the editorial board’s position that the deal concluded by the mentioned fund, according to which the Air Arabia airline was given the status of a national carrier, was not transparent to the public and had great corruption risks. The lawsuit is being considered.
