The Belarusian editorial office of Current Time has been closed, and staff have been laid off. According to Pavel Butorin, CEO of the Current Time channel, the closure of the Belarusian edition took place in the context of critical resource-optimisation reforms being carried out by RFE/RL. Current Time was established by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) with the participation of the Voice of America. Until January 2025, it was funded through grants from the US Congress via the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM).
