On May 2, 2023, in Simferopol, during the court hearing of the appeal against the arrest of Crimean Tatar human rights defender Abdureshit Dzhepparov, journalists filed a petition for admission to the courtroom and video recording. Judge Marina Kolotsey refused, referring to the safety for the participants of the process in the absence of the state prosecution, witnesses, and Dzhepparov himself. In this situation, the reason looks far-fetched and unreasonable.
