On October 30, 2023, the Telegram channel Krymsky SMERSH, which is closely connected with the Crimean subdivisions of Federal Security Service and Centre for Combating Extremism, posted a publication that the information initiative Crimean Solidarity, which unites a large number of citizen journalists, is «an enemy organisation used by Ukraine to coordinate protests in Crimea and incite interethnic discord». The text goes on to threaten subscribers, supporters, and participants of this initiative.
