Virgiliu Urechi, a doctor and former head of the radiology department of the Chisinau Oncological Institute who was detained by the Moildova's National Anticorruption Centre for taking bribes in 2022, sent preliminary requests for summons to several newsrooms, claiming that his honor and dignity had been damaged by published articles. He is demanding moral damages of 500,000 Moldovan Leu rom the Center for Investigative Journalism and the Anticoruptie.md portal, Sanatate.md portal and 1,000,000 Moldovan Leu from Ziarul de Gardă.
