Roskomnadzor has demanded that materials about the war in Ukraine, which allegedly contain «false information of public significance», be removed from the website under threat of extrajudicial blocking. The main website of Radio Svoboda and its subsidiary Idel.Realities have received similar notices. Other Radio Svoboda projects — Current Time and Crimea.Realities — have already been blocked for covering the war. Following the blocking of the Current Time website, RFE/RL President Jamie Fly said that the media corporation would not submit to censorship demands. In total, Radio Svoboda has received 56 notices from Roskomnadzor in the last month demanding removal of various journalistic materials.
