The Tverskoy District Court in Moscow has fined Kommersant journalist Bozhena Ivanova 20,000 rubles for reporting on a protest staged by political strategist Dmitry Kiseev. On July 22, 2025, the day the law introducing fines for internet searches was adopted, Kiseev stood outside the State Duma with a poster denouncing censorship. He was also fined 20,000 rubles. That same day, police detained Ivanova along with RusNews correspondents Yulia Petrova and Konstantin Zharov.
