The journalist was arrested at a protest rally on November 12 along with his colleague Yekaterina Biyak. The Central District Court of Khabarovsk arrested Zhirnov for three days under Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (participation in a public assembly creating an obstruction to traffic). Both were left overnight in the department, fined RUB 10,000 under the same article, then immediately arrested again and drawn up new reports.
