The Russian Ministry of Justice added publicist Boris Stomakhin to its register of “foreign agents.” According to the Ministry of Justice, he spread false information about the activities of the Russian authorities, created a negative image of the Russian army, and spoke out against the war in Ukraine. In March 2025, Stomakhin was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in a strict regime colony on charges of military “fakes” (clause ‘d’ of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and inciting hatred with the threat of violence (clause “a” of part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code).
