The Supreme Court considered the appeal of the criminal case and upheld the earlier sentences. Earlier, the lawyers asked to cancel the decisions of the Sverdlovsky District Court and Bishkek City Court and to issue an acquittal verdict for lack of corpus delicti in the actions of the investigative journalist. In November 2022, Bolot Temirov was deported from Kyrgyzstan by decision of the Bishkek City Court. Immediately after the verdict was announced, the journalist was forcibly taken out of the courtroom under escort, brought to Manas International Airport and sent to Moscow, the capital of Russia. Temirov was detained on January 22, 2022, on the case of illegal manufacture and possession of drugs. The day before, on January 21, the journalist released an investigation about the oil business of the family of the head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. Later, the reporter was charged with three more criminal cases.
