The investigator declared the passport of Bolot Temirov invalid without a court decision. The journalist's lawyer Razak Ashimbayev called this decision illegal and referred to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to which "no one has the right to deprive someone of his citizenship". Earlier, Edil Baisalov, deputy head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, stated that in the eyes of the authorities, Bolot Temirov is a "foreign citizen". In his opinion, the journalist "is engaged in deliberate destabilization, [...] subversion of the state regime of the Kyrgyz Republic". Four criminal cases were opened against Temirov - on the facts of illegally obtaining a passport and a military ticket, illegal border crossing, and the manufacture of drugs. All the cases were initiated after Temirov Live published investigations about participation in state tenders of relatives of the head of State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiyev.
