The Lyakhavichy District Court of the Brest Region has ruled that the content of the BGmedia Facebook page (identifier: facebook.com/bgmediaclub) constitutes extremist informational material. The page is affiliated with the website of the Brest-based news portal BGmedia, which was previously added to the Republican List of Extremist Materials in January 2024. On the basis of the court’s decision, Belarus’s Ministry of Information has included the BGmedia Facebook page in the Republican List of Extremist Materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials designated as extremist entail administrative liability for both publishers and users.
