A journalist of BES.media requested online access to an open trial on a civil suit filed by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs against the media owner Total Media Qazaqstan LLP. However, the secretary of the District Court № 2 of the Almaly District of Almaty refused the access, arguing that it is necessary to apply with an official statement. It should be noted that Kazakhstani legislation does not provide for any official applications for journalists to cover an open court session.
