The KGB officers detained the director of the newspaper Belorusy i Rynok Kanstantsin Zalatykh on his way out of home. They searched his flat, confiscated documents, means of communication, laptops — his and his wife’s. After that, Zalatykh was taken to the office of the newspaper, where the officers also conducted a search, seized documents and office equipment, and sealed the premises. Kanstantsin Zalatykh was taken to the KGB for interrogation, after which he was taken into custody. Since the moment of detention, the lawyer was not allowed to meet with him for more than a week. According to Zalatykh’s wife, the reason for the detention was a criminal case on incitement to hatred (Article 130 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
