On 2 March, Georgian opposition politicians and activists held a protest rally against the "foreign agents" law in front of the parliament building in Tbilisi. Several participants of the rally were detained. Among them were Zura Vardiashvili, director of Public and journalist Beka Dzhikurashvili. They were charged with minor hooliganism (Art. 166) and defiance of the legitimate demands of law enforcement officials (Art. 173). The newspaper "Georgia Online" reported that the security service of the Parliament did not allow journalists and representatives of public organizations to attend the hearings on the draft law. Several opposition politicians were removed from the courtroom with force.
