On 30 November 2024, riot police in Tbilisi detained Beka Beradze, producer of Radio Tavisupleba during a pro-EU protest. Beradze, who was arrested near the protest site, was reportedly beaten during his detention and is currently being held in a temporary detention facility in Sagarejo, eastern Georgia. According to his lawyer, Jano Chkadua, Beradze sustained visible injuries to the right side of his forehead. “His forehead is visibly red and shows clear signs of beating,” Chkadua told Radio Tavisupleba. He was held at a temporary detention center and released at dawn on December 3.
