Orda.kz employee Leonid Rasskazov and journalist Bek Baitas were hit by rubber bullets and stun grenades. Journalists were covering an activist rally in Almaty at the intersection of Baitursynov Street and Karasai-batyr Street. Police fired rubber bullets and stun grenades at the protesters. The protesters raised their hands and asked not to be shot at, after which a stun grenade was fired in their direction. A grenade fragment hit journalist the journalist of Orda.kz Bek Baitas in the face. A little earlier, Orda.kz employee Leonid Rasskazov had been shot in the back by a rubber bullet.
