The blogger Batmakan Zholbolduyeva was detained for one month. Such a decision was made by the Batken District Court. On March 28, 2022, a criminal case was initiated against Zholbolduyeva on the fact of causing death by negligence. Three days earlier, Arzygul Galymbetova, the 37-year-old journalist of the AKIpress news agency, had died. The police said that Galymbetova on the day of her death went to the police with a complaint against Zholbolduyeva. She said that Zholbolduyeva defamed her and hurt her honor and dignity. According to the Batken Region Department of Internal Affairs, on the same day, the journalist felt ill, and, around 8 PM, she went to the neurology department of the Batken Region Unified Hospital. Despite the help she received, she died during the night.
