The Pukhavichy District Court of the Minsk Region has recognised the Instagram account “barys.haretski” (identifier instagram.com/barys.haretski?gsh=OGZyemo1dDe0OHFw==) as extremist information content. Barys Haretski is a journalist and deputy chairman of the human rights organisation the Belarusian Association of Journalists. On the basis of the court’s decision, the Belarusian Ministry of Information has added the online resource to the national list of extremist materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials deemed extremist carries administrative liability for both publishers and users.
