The police beat Bakhrambek Talibzhanov, the Astana TV channel correspondent in Shymkent, at an auto parts warehouse where a major fire broke out at night. The journalist went there to make a report. The law enforcers prohibited any filming. Three policemen grabbed Talibzhanov and another one hit the correspondent in the face and then in the kidneys.
