On March 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku extended the terms of pre-trial detention of the head of online TV Kanal 13 Aziz Orujov and the employee of this media structure Shamo Eminov for another two months. Aziz Orujov was detained on November 27, 2023, and accused of illegal construction. The court arrested him for three months. On December 19, he was charged under Article 206.3.2 (smuggling by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Orujov faces up to eight years in prison.
