According to the investigation published by OCCRP, Forbidden Stories and Amnesty International, the Azerbaijani authorities used the spying program - Pegasus - of the Israeli company NSO Group known for developing cyberstalking devices to spy on journalists and activists. Among the victims was Azer Aykhan, journalist and deputy head of the Yeni Musavat media group.
