On 8 August, Judge Shogik Duryan’s assistant filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the news agency Sputnik Armenia, LLC Social Media (founder of the website Mamul.am), LLC International Media Holding (founder of the online TV company Euromedia 24), LLC Zhogovurd Newspaper Editorial Office (founder of the website Armlur.am), LLC Azatutyun TV (founder of the online TV channel and radio station Svoboda and the news website Azatutyun.am), and LLC Pastinfo (founder of the website Pastinfo.am). The suit seeks a retraction of information considered defamatory and financial compensation for damage to the plaintiff’s honour and dignity. The lawsuit was prompted by an article published on 30 April on Pastinfo.am, which was subsequently shared on the other platforms mentioned. The article claimed that, in the criminal case against Judge Artush Gabrielyan, there were arrests, including that of his assistant, who was accused of aiding and abetting bribery.
