Azamat Maytanov, the editor-in-chief of the Ak Zhaiyk newspaper, appealed to the police in connection with periodic threats to the life and health of the newspaper’s journalists, to him, and to members of his family. The threats come from an internet user with the nickname Satana, as well as from other accounts. Maytanov stated that «there are many people who want to get even with our newspaper. They are big ex-officials in custody and their henchmen, law enforcement officers, and administrative officials, who are often disturbed by the newspaper».
