The government wants to block social networks of websites that criticize the authorities: azadliq.org, azerbaycansaati.com, Meydan.TV, azadliq.info and Turan TV. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies filed a complaint with the Plenum of the Supreme Court. The complaint requires to block pages on social networks of the blocked in 2017 websites, including YouTube and Facebook, and profiles on other platforms. It is not yet clear when the complaint will be considered. The blocking decision in 2017 was made concerning an appeal by the Prosecutor General's Office, which alleges that several articles circulated on websites were detrimental to the state's interests.
