On 8 March, a women’s march took place in Baku under the slogan "8 March - For our rights". The procession was dispersed, the activists were detained and taken to the police. Several journalists who were involved in the rally were banned from gathering information. Meydan TV journalist Aytaj Taptig was detained. She was taken to the police office as a member of the rally. Later she was released.
