On March 8, a rally of women against violence against women was held in Baku. The journalists who collected information during the rally were attacked. Meydan TV journalist Izolda Agayeva received a scratch on her throat as a result of police intervention. Another journalist from Meydan TV, Aysel Umudova, was detained while filming the detention of protesters. She was detained for several hours at the police station and was asked to delete the recording. Toplum TV journalist Zarifa Novruz was hit on the arm, as a result, her phone dropped on the ground and broke. Her press card was torn. Correspondents of the Turan news agency Aziz Kerimov and Tatyana Kryuchkina, Fargan Novruzova (azadliq.info), Nargiz Abdsalamova (Mikroskop Media), Samira Aliya (anews.az) were also subjected to pressure.
