The Pervomaysky District Court of Bishkek extended the journalist's arrest until May 13, 2024. Together with other 10 arrested investigative journalists of the Temirov Live team, she is charged under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (сalls for mass riots). The criminal article provides for up to 8 years in prison. On January 16, Ayke's flat was searched, then she was detained, interrogated, and placed in a temporary detention centre, where she stayed for a fortnight. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the reason for the case was one of the materials of Temirov Live in December 2023, where experts allegedly found signs of calls for mass riots.
