On the afternoon of January 5, Radio Azattyq reporter Ayan Kalmurat and cameraman Sanat Nurbek were attacked in Almaty when they were filming the storming of the building of the akimat. Unknown shooters opened fire on protesters and journalists. The journalists claim that the shooters were aiming at them specifically, as the same car had previously chased them from where the shot came.
