The Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Republic of Tajikistan has denied accreditation to nine journalists of Asia-Plus in the forthcoming presidential elections. The Commission requires a certificate of registration to be submitted to the Ministry of Culture, but the Ministry of Culture does not extend the registration of the Asia Plus from the beginning of August, because it awaits a certificate from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). Asia-Plus applied for the certificate on August 14, 2020, but has not received any reply to date. Yesterday, September 28, the editorial office received a response from the Ministry of Culture, which states that the documents are still «under consideration».
