One of the imprisoned Tajik journalists Daler Imomali, in a letter from the Dushanbe pre-trial detention centre addressed to Tajik president Emomali Rakhmon, a copy of which was also obtained by Asia Plus, revealed some details of his case. Imomali writes that he does not recognise the October 17, 2022 verdict of the Shokhmansur District Court, which sentenced him to 10 years in prison, because the investigation and the court were «full of lies, libel, and duplicity». At the end of the letter, he warns that if any video of him, Abdullo Gurbati, Zavkibek Saidamini, and Abdusattor Pirmuhammadzoda is published, they should not be believed as «the video was recorded illegally, under psychological pressure, it is libel».
