The head of the Legal Department of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Kamal Aliyev demands the arrest of Avaz Zeynally, head of the online channel Xural TV. With this petition, Aliyev appealed to the court by special accusation. On March 3, his complaint was considered at the Baku Court of Appeal. The head of the agency claims that Zeynally libeled him, accusing him of a serious crime. He demands to punish the head of Khural TV under Article 147.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (libel on the accusation of a serious crime).
