Askhabali Alibekov, the blogger sentenced to one year and two months in prison under the article on repeated «discrediting» of the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reported that he had been beaten by the prison guards. Alibekov last contacted his family in late April, when he reported the beating. Since then, the blogger’s family has been unable to contact him for almost a month. After the verdict, Alibekov was in the penal colony in the village of Akhtarsky in the Krasnodar Krai.
