Arzygul Galymbetova, the journalist of AKIpress, died in Batken due to cardiac arrest. On March 25, 2022, one day before her death, Galymbetova went to the police, stating that she was being defamed on social networks by the blogger Batmakan Zholbolduyeva who was hurting her honor and dignity. The journalist also posted a video on her Facebook page stating that the bloggers were «bully her and want her dead». Later, the law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case under the article «Causing death by negligence» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. As part of the investigation, the blogger Batma Zholboldueva was detained and taken to the detention center.
