On the morning of March 1, 2025, RusNews journalist Artem Zubkov was detained in Barnaul and held at a police station for two days awaiting the trial. On March 3, the Central District Court of Barnaul fined him 1,000 rubles (10 EUR) under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences, which covers the promotion or public display of Nazi symbols. The charge was based on an eight-year-old video featuring the phrase “Putin won't like this” on its cover. Before the trial, Zubkov was kept in a cell that had recently been painted with harsh, corrosive chemicals. As a result, he suffered an asthma attack but was denied hospitalisation.
