On November 7, Khachatur Sukiasyan, the deputy of the ruling Civil Contract parliamentary faction, raised his voice at a briefing and started shouting in response to a question from the correspondent of Channel 5 Arpi Sukiasyan. Not allowing the journalist to finish formulating his question, the deputy declared in high tones: "Go and return the billions with your owner, you have no right to be called a mass media outlet. The politician was referring to the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, with whom the mentioned TV company is affiliated, who is charged with corruption and the case is currently being considered in court. Channel 5 made a statement noting that Khachatur Sukiasyan’s statements are libelous and will be legally assessed.
