National Assembly deputy Hayk Sargsyan filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Editorial Office of Zhoghovurd Newspaper LLC demanding compensation for the damage caused to his honour, dignity, and good reputation through libel. The reason for the lawsuit was the article published on November 17 in the newspaper of the same name belonging to the above-mentioned LLC and the news website Armlur.am under the title «On the day of the murder, deputy Hayk Sargsyan was at the house of the former deputy, waiting for Tuy». The next day, the deputy submitted a refutation to the editorial board, claiming that he was outside the country on the day of the high-profile murder and showed the stamps in his passport testifying to that. However, the editorial board found discrepancies in the facts and did not publish the refutation. The lawsuit is being considered.
