Additional information:
On March 16, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan filed a lawsuit against news websites Lurer.com and ArmDay.am with Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction demanding refutation of the previously published information, considered as libel, by these media outlets and compensation of AMD 500,000 from each of them. The reason for the lawsuit was the article «Post-revolutionary ’successes’ of former employers of ruling party officials: part 1» published on both websites on February 14, a few minutes apart. The article particularly says: «Hakob Arshakyan has secured a government resolution, according to which the state has taken a USD 10 million debt from the World Bank to establish an Engineering City in Jrvezh, together with Hakob’s former employer (National Instruments), Hakob’s own firm (Araxis Engineering) and several other companies.» The lawsuit is being considered.
