Additional information:
On June 9, Deputy Chairman of the Armenian Parliament Hakob Arshakyan filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the news websites Lurer.com and ArmDay.am, demanding that these media refute the information they had previously published, considered libel, and pay compensation AMD 5,000,000 each. The reason for the lawsuit was the article «Post-Revolutionary "Successes" of the former employers of the ruling party officials: Part 1», placed on both websites on February 14, a few minutes apart. The publication particularly says: «Hakob Arshakyan secured a governmental decree, under which the state took a USD 10,000,000 debt from the World Bank to establish an Engineering Town in Jrvezh, together with Hakob’s former employer (National Instruments), with Hakob’s own firm (Araxis Engineering) and several other companies». The lawsuit is being considered.
