Novaya Gazeta journalists Arden Arkman and Izolda Drobina reported that Andrey Matveev, the deputy chief physician at Surgut Clinical Trauma Hospital, attacked them while they were filming. The correspondents wanted to take a commentary on the deaths of two female medical employees working in the department, but the doctor forbade the filming and tried to take away the camera. According to Drobina, the doctor put Arden on the ground, tried to snatch the camera with one hand, and beat him. Drobina tried to pull the doctor's hand away, but the man punched her in the face, as she claims. She started filming what was happening, after which Matveev pushed the reporters into an elevator.
