In Tyumen, a court has handed down a verdict to blogger Anton Nesgovorov in a case concerning the “justification of terrorism”. The hearing took place on 17 December in the Tyumen Regional Court building via videoconference, as the case was heard by a military court in Yekaterinburg. The court imposed fines on Nesgovorov for each publication and banned him from administering social media accounts for three years. By partially combining the penalties, the court set the total fine at 500,000 roubles (€5,500). Taking into account the blogger’s detention in a pre-trial detention centre since May, the amount was reduced to 310,000 roubles (€3,429), and he was released in the courtroom.
