Dolin said that he was forced to leave Russia due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine and military censorship. His messengers accounts were hacked. On the door of Dolin's flat in the early days of the war, unknown persons painted the letter Z in white paint. Dolin later announced his resignation as editor-in-chief of the magazine Art of Cinema.
