On April 27, the defendant in the lawsuit of the Vice Speaker (now Speaker) of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan against the journalist of the Tert.am news website Ani Gevorgyan, after going through all three courts, was forced to fulfill the verdict — to publish a refutation and pay the plaintiff AMD 150,000 as a compensation for libel, AMD 100,000 as a fee for legal services, as well as AMD 7,000 as state duty. The reason for the lawsuit, submitted on May 13, 2021, was the press conference of the journalist where she accused Alen Simonyan of organizing an intimidation campaign on the social networks, threatening her and swearing against her.
