It has become known that imprisoned journalist Andrzej Poczobut has had his confinement in a cell-type facility extended for another six months. As a result, at Correctional Colony No. 1 in Navapolatsk, he is being continuously held in a high-security cell and has been repeatedly punished with solitary confinement, which is considered a punitive measure. He is denied phone calls and has not been allowed a single visit with relatives or received any parcels during his imprisonment. Andrzej Poczobut was detained in March 2021. In February 2023, he was sentenced to eight years in prison under articles related to inciting hatred and calling for actions against national security (Articles 130 and 361 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).
