The Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow has sentenced Andrey Zayakin, co-founder of the Dissernet project, to five years in prison in absentia on charges of financing extremism (Part 1, Article 282.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). The charges stem from Zayakin’s alleged donation to the Anti-Corruption Foundation. The court also ordered the confiscation of all funds remaining in his bank accounts. He was an editor of the data department at Novaya Gazeta.
