The police have opened a criminal case against businessman and blogger Andrey Malikov from Belgorod for defamation (Part 2, Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code) following a post on his Telegram channel. The primary complainant is Vladimir Bazarov, former deputy governor of the Belgorod region responsible for the construction sector. In addition, three other Belgorod officials have filed defamation claims against Malikov: Oksana Tarantova, Minister of Public Communications; Natalya Sharolapova, Minister of Finance; and Maxim Shaposhnikov, Minister of Culture.
