TV host Andrey Karaulov’s home was searched in the defamation case (Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), initiated at the request of Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec. Karaulov himself is in Dubai. The reason for the case was a video about incinerators, posted on the YouTube channel of journalist Maksim Shevchenko. Karaulov is a witness in the case. Rostec explained the complaint by the fact that the journalist «went far beyond professional ethics, practicing, in fact, pseudo-journalism», published in his channel «rumors and speculations», and recently, the number of materials of Karaulov with unverified information increased manifold, and they damaged the reputation of Chemezov.
