In the morning, police officers in full combat gear and with weapons broke into the flat of copywriter Andrey Famin. The law enforcers conducted a search, seized digital equipment, after which Famin was detained and taken away. On the same day, a «penitential» video of the detainee appeared on the pro-government Telegram channel. On camera, Famin says that he was allegedly the editor and author of articles for the network of protest newspapers Vestniki. According to those close to him, the video shows that Andrey was beaten after the detention. Later, it became known that Famin was charged for participation in the protest march in August 2020 (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus — «organisation and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them») and placed in custody in pre-trial detention centre № 1.
