On Monday, July 4, Andrey Alekseyev, an assistant cameraman for Russian public broadcaster TV Center, was wounded in the head and chest by shrapnel while reporting near the train station in Donetsk. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, TV Center claimed in its statements that Ukrainian forces were responsible for the shelling that injured Alekseyev. The Committee to Protect Journalists was unable to independently establish the source of the fire.
